Practical Innovations for Everyday Use
We build our innovations based on listening to the needs of the world of work, constantly feeling for the changes in our operating environment and responding to them proactively. We do strategy-based, long-term development work in an agile way. Our innovations are practical; they are exploited in our everyday work. Thus, Sasky can provide highly attractive VET that serves both students and the competitiveness of the region.
Our director inspires our staff – his motto is: ”encouragement creates enthusiasm”.
Hand in Hand
Our innovations are born in co-operation:
Staff: All in all, we have 14 schools scattered around the region. Reinforcing internal co-operation is one of the focal points in our new strategy
VET: in national development projects, we work with a network of ca. 30 VET providers. We are involved in The Finnish Association for the Development of Vocational Education and Training AMKE.
Regional, cross-sectoral: we team up with regional industry and Higher Education to explore the potential of new technologies so as to develop our training, enhance regional competitiveness and to prevent social exclusion.
European: we have some 40 partners in Europe and St. Petersburg.

Future Skills for Students
We aim to provide our students with the skills they can cope with in the present and future world of work as well as in further studies. Such skills develop effectively as a result of learner-centred pedagogical approaches, real-life learning environments and placements abroad.
By Future Skills we mean e.g.
- Recognising one’s own competences and being able to present them to the others
- Responsibility, initiative, self-management, problem-solving skills, entrepreneurial skills
- Being able to adjust to different kind of working environments and international teams, and to adapt what one has learned accordingly
